Tour Plan
Arrive in Agra by train or road. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to your hotel for check-in. After a brief rest and breakfast, get ready for your first sightseeing adventure.
The first stop will be the world-famous Taj Mahal. Marvel at the beauty of this stunning white marble mausoleum built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Take time to explore its intricately carved walls, the lush gardens, and the serene surroundings. This is a perfect spot for photography
After lunch, head to Agra Fort, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. This massive red sandstone fort was once the seat of the Mughal Empire. Explore its impressive palaces, mosques, and gardens, including Diwan-i-Am, Diwan-i-Khas, Moti Masjid, and Jahangir Mahal. The fort offers beautiful views of the Taj Mahal from its terraces.
In the evening, head to Mehtab Bagh, a garden located on the opposite bank of the Yamuna River, offering a breathtaking view of the Taj Mahal at sunset. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and the reflection of the Taj Mahal in the river. Afterward, return to your hotel and relax.
Stay overnight at your hotel in Agra.
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and embark on a half-day excursion to Fatehpur Sikri, located about 40 km from Agra. This abandoned Mughal city, built by Emperor Akbar in the 16th century, is a masterpiece of Mughal architecture. Explore the main attractions, including the Buland Darwaza, Jama Masjid, Tomb of Salim Chishti, Panch Mahal, and Diwan-i-Khas. Fatehpur Sikri is known for its striking blend of Persian, Mughal, and Indian architectural styles.
Next, return to Agra and visit Itmad-ud-Daula’s Tomb, also known as the "Baby Taj." This beautiful tomb is the burial site of Mirza Ghiyas Beg, a minister in the Mughal court, and it is considered a precursor to the Taj Mahal. The tomb is a stunning example of Mughal architecture and features intricate marble work and delicate inlay.
After visiting the tomb, enjoy some free time for shopping. Agra is famous for its marble handicrafts, carpets, and leather goods. You can visit the local markets like Sadar Bazaar or Kinari Bazaar to purchase souvenirs.
After completing your sightseeing and shopping, you will be transferred to your preferred mode of transportation for your onward journey.
